Ever since I launched this website five years ago, it has had the same headline.
Let’s talk about faith, it says, but soon it will say something else.
Because I have donated the five fine words to a project I have been deeply involved in.
The project is simply called “Let’s talk about faith” and has its very own website:

The purpose is, as it has been in my work for many years, to get people talking about faith.
Not to convince or seduce anyone, but to get people talking about something that matters.
It requires a different way of talking to each other than we often do. Often it’s about being right. Or at least about saying what you mean.
Conversations about faith are different.
They are curious, inquisitive, maybe a little shy, there is something at stake, you need to trust each other, you are honest, natural, don’t have a hidden agenda, but want what’s best for the other.
Conversations about faith are not the easiest to start. And yet. Because when we recorded the videos you can see on the website, it turned out that it actually wasn’t that difficult.

I’m proud to have been responsible for the videos. And I’m proud of the project.
We managed to get everyone in the project talking and working together, from the National Association of Parish Councils to the Catholic Church, the Free Church Network, the Bible Society and many more. Everyone has put their own interests aside for one purpose: to get us talking about faith.
