6.-10-6. Theme retreat: “What does the spirit really want from us”
Pentecost is so wild! Spirit and fire, gusts of wind and wildness sweep over us. We are filled with something and must do something, but what? What is it about the Holy Spirit that rushes around and makes us speak in other tongues and even wants to decide what we should say? What are we actually told about Pentecost and why is it relevant to immerse ourselves in it right now?
Silence is a gift to each other
We will work on this together for four days at the wonderful, quiet and inspiring Prestegården. During the theme retreat there will be silence except for the gatherings in the chapel. We will actively work with silence as a tool of the spirit. How does the spirit work when you are silent here and later at home?
The Bible is also about you
With lectio divina, we will immerse ourselves in the texts about Pentecost and get close to both our own lives and the role we can play with the spirit in the lives of others. We will discuss texts about the spirit from new and old theologians and poets from Martin Luther to Jan-Olav Henriksen, from John of the Cross to Ursula Andkjær Olsen. Together with them, we will marvel at how big a role the Holy Spirit has in Christianity – even today, where it hovers over the waters just like before creation, if we can spot it and give it room to work.
We are in it together
