Exploring spirituality in Ørslevkloster

Thursday, November 28 at 19:30 Charlotte Rørth visits the parish hall at Hejlskovvej 20, Ørslevkloster.
– Her writing, podcasts and TV shows have made ordinary Danes understand that they are not alone in carrying a faith that gives them hope in difficult times. We desperately need that hope and many know it. The last time I heard Charlotte Rørth speak about faith, more than 1000 people were present,” says parish priest Jeppe Jensen.
That’s why he and the parish council have invited the author, who is also known from TV, articles and her podcast, to share her story and hopefully light up a dark time.

Maybe not talking enough about faith

More than eight out of 10 people in Denmark are members of a religious community, but faith is not something we talk about much. Maybe we’re shy? Know too little?
For some of us, talking about faith is necessary to figure out how to live.
Come and hear about Charlotte Rørth’s journey from being a disinterested cultural Christian to being forced to take faith seriously after a series of spiritual experiences she had not asked for, but which up to half of us have. We just don’t talk about them and therefore can’t help each other live with them.

How to live with faith

However, as a journalist, she is used to seeking knowledge and slowly, through meetings with doctors, researchers, priests and ancient writings, she gets a grip on how to live as a modern and deeply religious person in Denmark today.
Her debut book “I met Jesus” has been translated into six languages. It and the subsequent books provide knowledge and inspiration for both those who have had experiences and those who live with them, and anyone who has an interest in finding a way to live with faith. Without war and discord in the family, either at home or abroad.
After the lecture, there will be plenty of time for conversation.
